Stranger Things: Fan Theories, 80s Nostalgia, Watch Party Survival Kit and More!
We're celebrating the 5th and final season of Stranger Things all November!
Happy November, everyone! We hope you’re enjoying a candy hangover from the Halloween festivities (or the post-holiday sale shelf) and are excited to dive headfirst into the cozy season. November is when we see the releases of end-of year blockbusters, fall season finales, and book lists to get you through to next year. It’s a great time to be a fan!
We’re pretty excited about one particular fandom getting a big sendoff at the end of 2025, but before we tell you what it is (if you haven’t already guessed), let’s take a look back at October content at rmrk*st!
Our theme last month was Dynamic Duos. Character pairings, whether they be platonic, romantic, or diabolical, are vital to some great storytelling. We put together a list of epic will they/won’t they romances from movies and television, and compiled a roundup of some of our favorite BFFs in pop culture. On theme for Halloween season, these creepy partners in crime are some of our favorites, and we hope you found our costume ideas for duos (for both couples and friends) helpful!
In addition, and in honor of Gilmore Girls turning 25 this past October, we checked in with one of our favorite podcasting duos, cohosts Catherine and Jackie at Gabbing Gilmore, for an exclusive interview! Check out our fun conversation to learn which Gilmore townies they would pair up in the event that Stars Hollow developed a podcast network–and much more!
And to round out some Gilmore-related fun,
announced his appearance at the Smells Like Snow and Coffee Festival in Akron, OH happening on November 1, 2025. The event includes meet and greets with fellow cast member Todd Lowe, and a live art gallery show, Hep Tones, at Forever Changes in Akron featuring art from both John and Keiko Agena (appearing virtually). John also announced In Trivia Paratus, a Gilmore Girls trivia event hosted in person at the Nightlight in Akron as well as virtually on the Remarkist app. (For exclusive access to future events just like this one, make sure to sign up here!)Usually, entering November means a move out of the spooky season, but this November things are a bit different. We know we aren’t the only folks who are excited about the series finale of Stranger Things, the first episodes of the fifth and final season dropping on Thanksgiving. To celebrate this groundbreaking, record-smashing Netflix series, we are dedicating content all month to the show! We’ll be deep-diving the fan theories and Easter eggs enthusiasts love to discover, as well as taking a look at how the culture of the 1980s leads the aesthetics and plot of the show. From the technology to the pop culture featured in the series, we can’t wait to revel in the nostalgia and how it functions in these incredible five seasons. And just to make sure you’re ready, expect a Stranger Things toolkit to get you through a night of exploring the Upside Down.
Start your rewatch now, because you’ll need to get caught up before the new season behind. Or, if you’ve never watched, now is the PERFECT time to catch up! Check out our table of contents below to look out for some help along the way. Check back for updated links and other surprises!
