In Trivia Paratus! Are You Ready to Test Your Gilmore Girls Knowledge?

Join me for a very special Gilmore Girls trivia IRL in Akron, OH and virtually at Remarkist!

Hey, hey my fellow Gilmore Girls fans! 🎵 I have some more fun news to shaaaaaare. 🎵 It’s about those fandom festivities taking place in just a couple short weeks in downtown Akron, OH. I recently announced, I’ll be appearing with Todd Lowe at the Smells Like Snow Coffee Festival for meet & greets and photo ops, as well as hosting an exclusive Hep Tones art show featuring works by the magnificent Keiko Agena at Forever Changes gallery (only three time slots available and two are already sold out! So grab your tix here! They’re freaking free folks!).

To be honest, I’ve never been so excited about a fandom appearance as this one.

And yet…

… there’s one more fun little secret I’ve been hiding up my sleeve, and I’m thrilled I can finally share: I’ve been working on a pre-fest trivia event with my friends over at the Nightlight theater (also in downtown Akron). It’s a nonprofit arthouse dedicated to building community around classic and arthouse film (we’re talking full-on Black & White & Read vibes).

The event is called In Trivia Paratus and it’s all happening on Saturday, November 1 from 9-11am! Tickets are $10, and all proceeds go directly to the Nightlight, a place we think is really special. Their dedication to creating a space for film lovers to share their passion for film is so in line with what we’re building at Remarkist to foster community around the arts. Now, if you know me, then you know this won’t be your typical fan-service trivia. Do not expect freebies like, “What’s the name of the designer purse Logan buys Rory?” or “What type of business does Taylor open next door to Luke’s?” Oh no, no, my friends. This trivia will not be for the faint of heart.

Pardon me while I “season-one-Rory” you for a sec here: did you know that (just like the famous Life and Death Brigade motto, In Omina Paratus) the word “trivia” is a direct lift from Latin? Of course you did! You’re a Puff waiting to happen! You know full-well that Trivia is the name of the Roman goddess of three choices (Dean, Jess, and Logan), and that “Tri-vium,” literally means three roads… commonly known as “crossroads,” where the common folk intersect, and that from there we got the word “trivial” for the types of trifles, gossip, and commonplace jibber jab that townies like Miss Patty and Babette tended to share in those types of spaces. I’m sure you are quite aware that because In Omnia Paratus means “ready for anything”, that In Trivia Paratus must therefore beg the very simple question: “are you ready for some seriously trifle facts?” Because in my kinda trivia, the ordinary, inconsequential little details of your favorite show are totally fair game. Are you solid on all of those background blink-or-you’ll-miss-it props? Do you know more than the average person about all the pop culture references in the series? I’ll be testing your detailed knowledge of the movie, music and book references from the series.

We will be playing using the Remarkist app, and I’ll be giving everyone a little tour of it in real time as we play. We aren’t open to the public yet, so this truly is a special early invitation which will come with more exclusive access to events, giveaways, and prizes in the months ahead.

But that’s not all: those who won’t be able to join us in Akron in person but already have an account in the Remarkist app will be able to join the event virtually and play along to win prizes!

But it gets even wilder. This event, from 9 to 11 AM ET, is just the prelude to a bigger game we’ll be playing in the app that day! You read that right. Just like a classic Town Meeting, this trivia event will be going ALL DAY LONG in the app, with more opportunities to show off your Gilmore knowledge, engage with others attending the Smells like Snow Coffee Festival, and win prizes. Those details will be shared at the event itself, so you gotta be there either in person or virtually to find out what’s in store.

If you attend in-person and don’t yet have a Remarkist account: You must purchase a ticket here for entry into the Nightlight. Your ticket also includes 1000 KRNL (our in-app game credits) once we get you in the app; you’ll need those to play. We’ll walk you through it, though, don’t you worry! You can also get a head start on your app account by downloading the app now and reserving your membername. When you show up for trivia, we’ll hand you your invite code to officially join.

If you already have a Remarkist account and plan to attend in person: You must purchase a ticket here for entry into the Nightlight. Then RSVP with your proof of purchase here and we will send over 1000 KRNL for you to play.

If you plan to attend only virtually (and therefore already have a Remarkist account): Entry into the event is 1000 KRNL.

The Nightlight has graciously opened their doors to host this event, and we can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. Grab those tickets just as you would a seat at Lane’s wedding. ‘Cause spots are super limited. Only 50 seats in total. Additionally, the event in the app will also be restricted to a max 50 virtual attendees. So this will be the most exclusive event of the weekend, bar none!
