Dynamic Duos: Partners in Crime, BFFs, and Epic Romances
This October we’re celebrating the best pairs in fandom!
Maybe you’re counting the days toward Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl drop, or anticipating Gilmore Girls’ 25th Anniversary coming up, or working on your Disney/horror franchise/Stranger Things Halloween display (👀)...whatever your fandom, it’s October and we are thrilled to bring you new content in the coming month!
But first, coffee. Let’s take a look back at our September content and make sure to catch you up on everything you missed during our celebration of Gilmore Girls ahead of the 25th anniversary of the premiere of the show back on October 5, 2000. Around here, Gilmore Girls is pretty special to us, as it is the first fandom established at Remarkist. Over the past four years we’ve had watch parties, trivia events, games, interviews with cast, crew and fans–and much more. Gilmore Girls is a constant in our universe: participants in our flagship fandom have gone to establish countless other fandom communities on our app.
Last month, we started out with an ultimate rewatch guide for your anniversary festivities, providing shortcuts and skips to make sure your fall annual viewing doesn’t interfere with your hay bale maze-going or harvest festival adventures. We provided curated playlists for every character, which you can easily find on our Spotify page, and celebrated those memorable side characters and cameos we all love on every rewatch. And ever wonder what our Gilmore girls would look like in Bridgerton? We got you with these AI art mashups.
In addition, we looked to some friends who are creators in the Gilmore fandom for inspired content! We built some fall menus from Larisa Kliman’s Eating Gilmore blog. Author
took us behind the scenes of writing her new book, Meet Me At Luke’s! And we talked to friend of the mag in an exclusive interview about her Substack, podcast and Gilmore fandom destination, Friday Night Readers. And to send you off into Anniversary Week, we compiled some great quotes from the series that we know you want to use in everyday conversation. The Gilmore love runs deep over here, so keep your eyes peeled (and your emails subscribed!) to rmrk*st Magazine for more posts about the show, the fandom, and even cast appearances (hint hint!)Now that we’re in the second of the “ber” months, we are shifting gears as the leaves start turning. We don’t know about you, but we’re thrilled about Spooky Season. That got us thinking about creepy stuff in fandom: like those Grady Twins from The Shining, or Freddy and Jason. But lots of fandoms feature pairs (both spooky and decidedly not scary): pairs of villains, pairs of friends, pairs of superheroes, pairs of foes. So our theme for this month is Dynamic Duos! Expect article content on BFFs in fandom, partners in crime, iconic “will they/won’t they” storylines, and since it’s Halloween month, the best ideas for couple/pair costumes.
So stock up on your candy and fresh fall apples, then join us here to satisfy your fandom cravings. Our table of contents is below–check back for updated links, tricks, and treats! (Just kidding–we would never trick you!) And for more information about Remarkist, check our Discord where you can find regular updates on everything going on in our ecosystem. Make sure to follow us on Instagram, Threads, Tumblr and Spotify for tons of fandom content!
