Calling all Star Wars fans! 🚀 Over three months, the community at Remarkist held a watch party series of one of the most iconic film franchises of all time. Watching the films (including the Holiday Special from 1978–it’s canon!) in chronological order, new and veteran fans alike gathered to enjoy the ongoing masterpiece that is the Star Wars universe.
To commemorate the experience, each film event host dropped a Memento. Mementos are collectible content–digital badges that in most cases, any member of our fan-creator ecosystem can claim for their collection. They are entirely produced by fans who craft and drop limited edition sets, and collectors can keep, trade, or auction their digital collectibles for KRNLs–just like you would trade enamel pins at Walt Disney World or trade Magic the Gathering cards with other collectors. Â
These particular Mementos were conceived of together by all Star Wars watch party hosts to tell a complete fan fiction story based on their love of the Star Wars universe. Released in serial fashion–one Memento a week–what emerged was an entirely new story, with entirely new characters. We love fan fiction at Remarkist; it’s a way so many fans engage with the content they love. This Memento Insights series celebrates collaboration, creativity, and love of a franchise that has spanned the last 40+ years and keeps gaining new fans.
These Star Wars Memento Insights were published here at rmrk*st exactly as they appear on the Remarkist app: the names, formatting, and descriptions remain unchanged. Think of them as preserved artifacts, on display. In some cases, that may include typos or formatting quirks which we consider part of the collectible work. Mementos are bite-sized pieces of collectible content in our Remarkist app. They look like digital badges with short authored commentary embedded within. Remarkist app members craft and drop limited edition sets to commemorate events in our fan-creator ecosystem.
This Memento Insight was taken from a Memento of the same name, and its written description was preserved exactly as it appears in the Memento. In some cases, that may include typos or formatting quirks which we consider part of the collectible work. There may still be editions of this Memento in our app. By claiming one, you become a micro-patron of this creator/author. To find the Memento, search their @membername or the event title in the Remarkist app. If all editions have been claimed, you can still support the creator by acquiring one of their other Mementos or tipping them in our KRNL token.
