Fallout, Films Based on Video Games, Theme Parks and 90s Movies in Gaming
It’s all fun and games this April!
Spring has sprung, and you know what that means: flowers are blooming, awards season is over, and Spring episodes of Gilmore Girls are on your TV on repeat. In other words, a lot is going on! We hope you remembered that March has 31 days, and didn’t schedule all your meetings for the 31st.
We’re psyched to let you know what you can expect here at rmrk*st in April. But first, take a break from listening to Cowboy Carter on repeat for a few minutes to take a look back at the other topics we were all over in March!
We dedicated content in March to the art of sleuthing and mystery fandom. March was also Women’s History Month, and so we wanted to celebrate by highlighting female creators. What better way than to get excited about the female authors in the mystery/thriller genre? Make sure you add some of these authors’ books to your Spring Break TBR list.
If you’re a true crime lover, we see you and we can’t say we’re not fans. So we turned our attention to fictional, or, un-true crime. We let you know which detective procedural TV shows to binge and the fake crime podcasts to listen to right now.
If you’re like us, counting the days until Taylor Swift’s release of The Tortured Poets Department later this month, chances are you're also a sleuthing Swiftie. We took a look at the art of playing armchair detective in all of your fandoms: from looking for Easter eggs dropped by your favorite artist (like Ms. Swift) to rewatching a TV show to look for clues about the conclusion. You don’t have to be a mystery genre lover to enjoy a puzzle-y approach to your fandoms.
This April, we are looking forward to the highly-anticipated release of Fallout, the limited series on Prime Video based on the video game of the same name. Not since The Last of Us have we been this excited about an adaptation. So we thought it was high time that we revisit gaming fandom and media franchises they inspire and are inspired by them. From movies and TV to theme parks, our theme will be all things video games!
Check out our Table of Contents below for what’s coming your way, and we will update with links as we publish throughout the month. Stay tuned for surprise drops! And as always, don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Tumblr, and find other fans like you in the fandom forums on our Discord!
Ok, feel free to get back to Beyoncé; you’re caught up here for now!
