Welcome back to Remarkist Magazine, or rmrk*st for those of you who love abbreves (see what we did there?)! We are off to an exciting start in 2023, with a new magazine lewk and content that we hope you feel compelled to like and share.

February is unofficially (or maybe officially) the month of celebrating love—of family, friends, and partners. To that end, we leaned on our favorite fandoms to guide our Valentine’s Day celebrations here at the Magazine. Make sure you’re subscribed for fun Valentine’s content headed your way this month—if you’re not yet, you are in luck! It’s the best time to subscribe, because we have some exclusive extras coming ‘atcha when you hit that button starting February 1! Consider it…a Valentine from us to you. 💝

Subscribe to rmrk*st (A Remarkist Magazine) in February to receive some extra goodies!

January was a big month for us here at rmrk*st, and everyone loves a “previously on…” so let’s recap, shall we? First up, we began to incorporate community content, which we are over-the-moon excited about. January 2023 saw the first few drops of our brand new Remarkist Insights series. Each month, we are curating Memento content from the Remarkist Community, showcasing members’ creative art and writing about the content they love and are sharing inside the app. If you missed them, be sure to find all of January’s Memento Insights in our monthly roundup right here! Stay tuned for more in February—and do consider submitting your own for consideration!

New year, new shows! In January, we dove right into some epic content on the app and in our Magazine as it dropped in real time. Arguably the biggest television/streaming premiere in January 2023 was The Last of Us, and Remarkists got right into it with weekly watch parties and discussions. We featured predictions and video game/set pieces comparisons from the show and all around geeked out about this series. We are watching as the episodes drop, so it’s the perfect time to join our The Last of Us 🧟 events!

Other content we got excited about: In honor of the 27th season dropping January 23, we took a look at how to watch The Bachelor. 🌹 We examined the centuries-old tradition of community myth-making 📜 in our look-back at the Goncharov phenomenon of late 2022. And we reinvented the idea of “New Year’s Resolution” by examining the role of self-care in fandom.

In February, look for a celebration of Black History Month with our special brand of fandom spin. We are really excited to share a Memento Insight highlighting our Black History Month content in the app, and an editorial featuring some incredible creators.

And finally, if you’re not hanging with us on social media, you’re missing out! Find exclusive fannish content on our Instagram feed and tumblr! Tag us in your fandom artwork and we might feature you on our IG stories for our weekly Fan Art Fridays! 🎨

Here’s our Table of Contents for the month ahead. We’ll update this post throughout February as we publish content, adding quick links to each. Until the content is published, we’ll just give you its topic, author, and publish date.

Not a Remarkist member? Here’s how to get started:

  • Step 1: Join our project as an early adopter and grab your unique @membername. Install our app from one of the links here, and be one of the earliest to collect our KRNL token while earning rates are high. KRNL fuels Remarkist’s fandom economy of events and collectibles.

  • Step 2: Join our Remarkist Clubhouse Club—Clubhouse is a separate mobile app on iPhone and Android that we use right now to meet and watch content together. You’ll need it to join some of our real-time events that we aren’t hosting in our own app yet, and you’ll need to be a member of our club there to see those chat rooms.

  • Step 3: Join our Discord Server—this is where hundreds of Remarkists are geeking out over the shows we love 24 hours a day, and it’s where you can get the latest developments on the project. When you join, head over to our #general-chat and say hello. Our members are friendly and eager to collaborate!

  • Step 4: Check out our website at remarkist.com for a splashy birds-eye view of the biggest stuff happening in our ecosystem.

  • Step 5: Subscribe to this magazine so you can stay up to date on all the exciting stuff coming to Remarkist. Or share it with someone who enjoys fandom and creativity too.
