The Joyful Markit: Prize Details and Rules for Our Holiday Extravaganza!

We are downright jolly to welcome you all to our Joyful Markit, our digital take on the classic holiday market we’ll be hosting from Monday 12/18 through Friday 12/22 in this final week of our annual Holiday Hiatus! The holidays are a time of gift-giving and sharing cheer with others, and with that spirit we look forward to seeing what our Markit vendors and Food Truck proprietors create for you to purchase and claim with KRNL to gift to others! The more you claim and gift to various members of the Remarkist community, the more automatic “tickets” you’ll acquire for prize drawings–so channel your inner elf and prepare to gift as much as you get!

Think of the prizes as our gift to you to thank you for another exciting year of Remarkist! This is just our creative way of randomly distributing them. What are qualifying tickets?
Participating in our Joyful Markit will earn you “tickets” for prize drawings. There are Shopper Tickets, Vendor Tickets, and Food Truck Tickets. Each ticket type is earned in a different way. These aren’t actual tickets but rather qualifications to be included in our nightly drawing and your strength in those drawings, determined by some criteria below.
Every Remarkist Member, old and new, can be a “Shopper!” You simply open the Remarkist app next week and claim Mementos from as many events with the brand title “The Joyful Markit” as possible. Then gift them to others with a sweet holiday message.
All Memento Items offered in the Joyful Market have the same password:

Make a mental note in case you plan to type it in a lot.
You earn Shopper Tickets each time all of the following criteria are met:
You claim a Memento Edition from an official event with the brand title “The Joyful Markit”
You gift that edition to another Member who has not been gifted any other “The Joyful Markit” Mementos by you.
The Memento gift completes its 24-hour transit and arrives at the giftee’s Memento album.
Shoppers, do note that you’re called shoppers for a reason. These Joyful Markit Mementos will have KRNL claim fees of no less than 10 KRNL varying from vendor to vendor. So budget wisely (and perhaps strategically) for those tickets and that gift-giving fun.
Newer Members: you’ll have lots of events next week to harvest from, or you can earn quick KRNL by knocking off tasks from your onboarding checklist!
Shopper Restriction: You cannot have purchased any KRNL packs from the KRNL Depot after Nov 27. All Memento purchases must be done using KRNL earned from the system or through Lumo Rewards. So keep away from that Depot until next Saturday the 23rd.
Vendors are running Markit Stalls in our Remarkist app all week. These are simply 30-minute events that will be easily accessible from the Featured Carousel on the app’s home feed. If you are a Vendor, you can use your 30 minutes for short watches or listening parties. Or you can just stop by quickly to drop your Memento, talk about it a bit before putting up a “Back in 10 Minutes 🕥” sign. Your main goal, though, is to move your stock! For every edition you sell, you’ll earn a ticket. If you hit a good sweet spot between price and inventory amount, that could be a healthy share of the total Vendor Tickets!
You earn Vendor Tickets each time the following criterion is met:
A Memento Edition is claimed from one of your official events with the brand title “The Joyful Markit.” It doesn’t matter who holds the Memento or whether it is in transit.
Vendor Restriction: Only Lumo Members with current subscriptions that began on or before 11/27 are running Markit Stalls this year.
We created Food Trucks so that even our Non-Lumo Remarkists could enjoy a similar storefront mechanic. Here, we’re conjuring up the tastes and smells of a local holiday market. Food Truck Vendors are hosting 30-minute events where they’ll distribute snacks to other Remarkists in the form of Mementos using official Remarkist icons. For every Food Memento claimed, Vendors will earn a ticket. These won’t have a KRNL claim fee. Some might even have a pretty respectable density... Which isn’t the only incentive to collect from these Food Trucks Vendors. For every food item claimed, both the Food Vendor and the Food Patron earn a ticket.
But honestly, if you do some simple math here, you’ll realize running a Food Truck is a strong strategy for the week.
You earn Food Truck Tickets each time any of the following criteria is met:
A Memento Edition is claimed from one of your official Food Truck events with the brand title “Joyful Bites.” It doesn’t matter who holds the Memento or whether it is in transit.
You claim a Memento from an official event with the brand title “Joyful Bites,” and it remains in your possession at the time of a draw.
Someone gifts you a Memento from an official event with the brand title “Joyful Bites,” and it remains in your possession at the time of the draw.
Restriction: Food Truck Vendors cannot claim one of their own Mementos as a qualifying ticket.

When are the prize drawings?
We will have prize drawings every evening at 7:30 PM PT from Tuesday 12/19 through Friday 12/22. There will be different prize drawings for Specialty items and Non-Specialty items.
Drawing Types
Each of the three ticket types (Shopper Tickets, Vendor Tickets, and Food Truck Tickets) gets its own drawings that don't compete with the other two types. However, being a Vendor doesn’t impede your ability to earn Shopper or Food Truck Tickets and participate in those drawings as well.

Shopper Draws: 3 Non-Specialty and 1 Specialty
Vendor Draws: 9 Non-Specialty and 1 Specialty
Thursday, 12/21
Shopper Draws: 7 Non-Specialty and 1 Specialty
Friday, 12/22
Shopper Draws: 1 Non-Specialty and 1 Specialty
Vendor Draws: 9 Non-Specialty and 1 Specialty
Food Truck Draws: 14 Non-Specialty and 2 Specialty
How will the drawings be done?
First: We will draw from one of the three Ticket Type Pinwheels created by Remarkist.
The Shopper Ticket Pinwheel will have every edition of every Markit Item Memento (both claimed and unclaimed). If the pinwheel lands on a Memento edition that has been claimed and successfully gifted, the claimant will win the prize. If it lands on an unclaimed edition, an edition that hasn’t been gifted, or an edition that is still in transit, we spin again.
The Vendor Ticket Pinwheel will also have every edition of every Markit Item Memento (both claimed and unclaimed). If the pinwheel lands on a Memento edition that has been claimed, the vendor will win the prize. If it lands on an unclaimed edition, we will spin again.
The Food Truck Pinwheel has every edition of every Food Truck Memento, but since Food Truck Vendors and Food Truck Patrons play on the same pinwheel, there will be two of every edition on the pinwheel: one labeled for the vendor and one for the patron. If the pinwheel lands on a Memento edition that has been claimed, it will either go to the vendor if labeled for vendor or to the person holding the edition if labeled for patron. If it has not been claimed or has been gifted but is still in transit, we will spin again.
Second: We will spin one of two Prize Pinwheels (Specialty or Non-Specialty) to see what our winner from the first step has won:
The Specialty Pinwheel contains our eight specialty prizes. Restriction: If a member wins a Specialty draw, they become ineligible for all future Specialty Draws.
The Non-Specialty Pinwheel contains all of our non-specialty prizes, and members continue to play these even if they win earlier ones or a Specialty draw.
When a Memento edition wins for a particular Ticket Type Pinwheel, it is removed from only that Pinwheel.
When a prize is won from a particular Prize Pinwheel, it is removed from that Pinwheel.
On days with different Ticket Type Drawings, we’ll rotate between them from Shopper to Vendor to Food Trucker and back to Shopper.
Specialty Drawings will always be the last drawings of the day.
Do I need to be present to participate in a prize drawing?
Nope! You do not need to be present to participate or win a drawing. You just need to have a qualifying ticket, which we look up for you based on the above mentioned criteria.

We’re so glad you asked! We have a combined total of 56 prizes to go around. That’s right…fifty-six! Nobody spreads holiday cheer like us! (Well, maybe this guy.)
