Special Announcement! Holiday Hiatus is here!
Join John Cabrera for a festive slate of watch parties on Remarkist Holiday Channel!
The last few weeks of 2025 are upon us, and that means one thing: Holiday Hiatus at Remarkist! The end of December brings holiday traditions, and our official seasonal slate of programming–the Remarkist Holiday Channel–is a festive tradition we look forward to.
This Holiday Hiatus, we will be watching new movies that have just arrived on streaming platforms that bring all the cheer and cheese! Rom-coms, heists, and Christmas with ex-spouses…we even threw in a new documentary to switch things up. We are also psyched to watch the new Season 3 of Home for Christmas together, a series we fell in love with a couple of seasons ago.
We have 12 holiday content watch party events lined up in the Remarkist app, all hosted by John Cabrera. But that’s not all! You can also join John for a Gilmore Girls episode watch party (KRNL reservation fee required) as well as nightly Midnight Maisel watch parties where we’re tackling Seasons 4 and 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel from now until December 23 at 10:30pmPT/1:30amET.
If you don’t already have the Remarkist app but would like to attend our Holiday Hiatus events, just call us Santa. Why? We’re embracing the spirit of the season and opening our doors before our official launch next year if you’d like to join in on the merriment! You can find Remarkist in the Apple or Google Play store. Once you download and install the app, from the Sign Up screen request an invite and secure your unique membername. Request by December 31st (earlier is best as our Holiday Hiatus runs from 12/13-1/1!), and you’ll receive an invite code within the day. You’ll be able to join our Hiatus events and everything coming up in the new year! More information about the Remarkist app can be found right here!
Before we get to the schedule, we have one more holiday hint! Starting December 26th, things are going to get topsy turvy around here.
You will not want to miss this, so make sure you’re subscribed to rmrk*st Magazine so we can send that info–and special announcements for future planned activities–straight to your inbox.

Mon 12/15, 8:00pm PT/11:00pm ET
From Prime Video: Claire Clauster is the glue that holds her chaotic, lovable family together at the holidays. But this year, after planning a special outing for them, they make a crucial mistake and leave her home alone. Fed up and feeling under appreciated, she sets off on an impromptu adventure of her own. As her family scrambles to find her, Claire discovers the unexpected magic of a Christmas gone off-script.
Honestly? This movie could be about anything and we’d be excited because look at this cast! Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Grace Moretz, Felicity Jones, Eva Longoria, Denis Leary, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, and of course, Gilmore Girls alum Rose Abdoo.

Champagne Problems
Wed 12/17, 2:00pm PT/5:00pm ET
From Netflix: A driven American exec heads to Paris determined to acquire a champagne brand by Christmas — and accidentally falls for the heir to the bubbly empire.
We’re excited for a French adventure and Paris at the holidays. Plus, can’t go wrong with a Minka Kelly-led flick. And if this (spoiler alert!) hilarious review is correct, we know it will be a great time.

The Merchants of Joy
Thurs 12/18, 2:00pm PT/5:00pm ET
From Prime Video: In the city that never sleeps, five families hustle each winter to turn sidewalks into holiday outposts. The Merchants of Joy follows these Christmas die-hards as they source, sell, and safeguard a family tradition at risk. It’s a warm, grounded portrait of pride, grit, and the joy they bring—one tree, one customer, one season at a time.
Is there anything more iconic than picking a Christmas tree to bring home? Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s going to be fun to learn about how the trees make it into homes in NYC.
