The days are getting ever so slightly longer and the earth might be emerging from its tundra-like slumber. (Speaking of atmospheric snow and cold weather, we’ve been watching a lot of Severance over here–anyone else?) With spring comes new possibilities and the chance to move in a new direction.
But you can’t always look ahead before reflecting on the past. So before we roll the dice on what’s coming up this month, let’s check back to see what you might have missed in February, shall we?
Our focus last month was a celebration of Connection. We explored the magic of collaborative experiences, from character friendships to entertainment business ventures both in and out of the real world. In recognition of Black History Month, we put together a list of the best Black female friendships on screen. Sometimes the best collaborations come from surprising places, so we took a look at some unlikely partnerships on TV and in film that on paper, shouldn’t work–but totally do. When people come together from different backgrounds, they each bring something special to the dynamic. That’s why we assembled this list of intergenerational collaborations in pop culture. And finally, we profiled unique collaborative workplaces and initiatives that power some of our favorite entertainment. We can build worlds together through collaboration, and make them richer and more fantastic than if we were working alone.
Now that you’re caught up, let’s spring ahead! From the Ides of March to March Madness to St. Patrick’s Day, the third month of the year is all about destiny. Our theme for March is….Luck! We’ll dive into the roles of chance and superstition in some of our favorite content. We’ll talk about all kinds of story turns, from narratives that that rely on lotteries (good and bad!), to cosmic coincidences to recurring numbers and signs. The idea of luck plays an important role in storytelling, and we can’t wait to explore it.
