Every weekend thousands of Taylor Swift fans gather on Instagram and TikTok 📱 to watch Taylor put on one epic performance after another. One of the reasons to tune in – to see which surprise songs she plays in her acoustic set. Fans have coined this as “Surprise Song O’Clock.” ⏰ Taylor has said that she won’t repeat songs. Like ever. Yes, her song catalog is that impressive. Since the start of the tour, she has only made 2 amendments to this game of hers:
If the song is off of Midnights, she will play it as many times as she wants because the current album is the most accurate picture of her life to date.
If she makes a mistake the first time, she is allowed to play the song again.
Taylor Swift is known for putting easter eggs 🥚 in her music videos, so we thought a game would be the perfect way to celebrate this puzzle-cracking fandom. 🧩 Get ready to flex 💪 your Swift-savvy skills and decipher 🧠 an intricate code of emojis to uncover the secret melodies that have touched millions of hearts. A game for the eras, you might say. ✨
This game has two parts. ✌️
Like any Taylor Swift puzzle, nothing is quite like it seems. This isn’t going to be straightforward. You’ll need to find a few sets of clues, and then you’ll cross-reference them with other clues down the line. So we’ve broken this into two parts which you can enjoy as separate fandom challenges. Players gonna play, play, play, play play!
Part 1: Now I’m searching for signs 🔍
First, you will have to decode the emojis to Taylor Swift lyrics. Each lyric comes from a surprise song that Taylor Swift has performed so far on her Eras Tour (as of the 7/7 Speak Now release weekend). There are playlists like this one that can be very helpful.
Each era is used at least once. We only repeat eras (not songs). The eras are debut, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore, and Midnights…
Example: If we gave you 🏰💔🌛🔪🔫, that would decode the lyric, “My castle crumbled overnight, I brought a knife to a gunfight” which is from the reputation song “Call It What You Want.”

So you have solved all 13 emoji codes and you currently have 13 song titles? Onto the second part — Using the game board below, you will search for each of the song titles. You will find the song titles horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Sure, a die-hard Swiftie can probably find the songs without solving the emoji codes, but where is the fun in that?! We know you love the game.
