Spike, Is That You? See Our Favorite Buffy Vampire in Fan Favorite Films and TV Shows
Ever wonder how Spike would fit into other popular content? Look no further!
When it comes to icons, we’re hard-pressed to find one quite as complicated as the brooding, sarcastic, sensitive, struggling vampire, Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. While himself a true original, Spike does remind us of some other iconic figures in pop culture history. We thought it would be fun to imagine our favorite vampire 🧛♂️ in some other iconic roles!
Spike as Danny Zuko? Tell us about it, stud! ⚡️We know Spike could star in a musical, and for sure he’d go crazy for a car that is automatic, systematic, and hydromatic. Also, we’re hopelessly devoted to Spike in a black muscle tee, so, yes, this will do.
Speaking of greasers, Spike fits right in with the Outsiders crew. Like Dallas, Spike lives by his own rules…even if they aren’t exactly legal. 🚬He’s impulsive when he thinks he has nothing left to lose.
A no-brainer, right? While Pike in the original film is walking amongst the living, his attitude is similar to the Spike we meet in the TV series. 🏍 (Plus, Luke Perry will live forever in fans’ minds as Dylan McKay, another bad boy in a leather jacket.) If viewers wanted to imagine Pike as a vampire, Spike is as close as it gets!
What’s the difference between a vampire and an ad executive?! 🥃 Not much! We kid, of course. But Don Draper and Spike do have a lot in common: they’re brooding and mysterious, care a lot more than they let on, and stay out all night. Both are classic anti-heroes whom audiences can’t help but root for.
Like Jess Mariano arriving in Stars Hollow, Spike stumbles, quite literally in Season 3 Episode 8 “Lover’s Walk,” into Sunnydale as an outsider looking in. We can’t help but fall for the bad guy. Spike would totally mess with Dean, bidding on Rory’s basket 🧺 —and there definitely wouldn’t be one thing in that basket that Spike would consider eating either. Team Spike, anyone?
