Fa-la-la Fandom! Traditional Rewatches, Holiday Music, Merch, and Festivals
Fandom gets festive in December!
It’s time to deck those halls! December is here, and as the year comes to a close, we’re holding space for the fandoms we have long been a part of as well as new fandoms we continue to discover. Whatever your favorite activity is in the last month of the year, The December holidays are a great time for reflection and celebration, tradition, and making plans for the year ahead.
But before we look to end-of-year celebrating, let’s have a second taste of everything you might have missed in November at rmrk*st! Our theme was Fandom Feast, a celebration of food and fandom, as they often go hand in hand.
Cooking shows have long been exciting forms of entertainment for all ages, but we took a closer look at the cooking and lifestyle shows that are particularly relaxing to watch. Observing someone else create a culinary experience can be inspiring, and we featured the best documentaries and biopics that celebrate a singular chef. And if you’re an aspiring chef yourself, these cookbooks might help you in your journey–or at least satisfy your cravings inspired by the TV shows you’re been bingeing this year.
Culinary experiences enhance fictional storytelling as well. We looked at the way food is used in sci-fi and fantasy storyworld-building like the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. And we also explored the role of restaurants and cooking in the romance genre in movies and TV shows. If you missed any of these, make sure to subscribe so you’ll have every new article delivered straight to your inbox!
December is a time for holiday merriment, and with that in mind, we are taking a look at the festivity of the season through the experience of fandom. From traditional holiday rewatches of our favorite shows and movies to indulging in holiday music from our favorite artists, this time of year is a fantastic time for fans looking for comfort and reflection.
So join us this December for some holiday fandom fun–and make sure to keep an eye on our Discord for upcoming holiday events with other Remarkists and follow us on Instagram and Tumblr to connect with other fans–just like you! Also, remember that it’s gift-giving season, and what’s a better gift than sharing rmrk*st mag with a friend?
We’ve made a list–and checked it twice–of the fandom content coming your way in the coming month! And as always, if you love what you see please share, subscribe, and leave us feedback in the comments!
