5 Spotify Playlists, Fan Made, That You Can Enjoy Now
Jukebox Jams playlists from our community that are sure to rock your world
At Remarkist, we specialize in fandom, which primarily consists of community watch party events where we watch and discuss our favorite shows and movies. But we also love to listen to music (who doesn’t?)! Remarkist is home to an event type we call Jukebox Jams, community listening party 🎧 events that can be scheduled by any host at any time around any theme–and we curate the resulting playlists on Spotify at Remarkist. There, fans can find past event playlists based on TV shows and movies, or centered around a theme. The host and attendees of Jukebox Jams determine the vibe, and the possibilities are endless! You never know what to expect at a Jukebox Jam–except a rockin’ good time!
Here are some Jukebox Jams playlists that you can listen to and share from past events!
Jukebox Jams at the Bronze
Our past official Remarkist watch party slates have included Buffy the Vampire Slayer 🧛♂️. As a supplemental event series to the episode discussions, we hosted Jukebox Jams at the Bronze, weekly listening parties dedicated to the Scooby gang’s favorite club on the show. Attendees tapped into the indie, edgy feelings of the musical selections that the show often showcases to build lists of songs that you might dance to at The Bronze on a Friday night…before the place is infiltrated with vampires, that is. You can find them all at Remarkist on Spotify.
Jukebox Jam: Deep 80s with Sean Gunn
During the Super Sensational Summer Spectacular, our Gilmore Girls month long event in June of 2022, we hosted all sorts of events: watch parties, games, chat sessions and of course, Jukebox Jams. We were excited to have Sean Gunn, otherwise known as Gilmore Girls’ Kirk Gleason, come hang out with our community to dig into some deep cuts from the 80s. Attendees contributed their picks and curated an epic playlist which includes tunes like “Suspended in Gaffa” by Kate Bush and “Hold Me Now” by Thompson Twins. Crank these tunes when you’re in need of an 80s fix!
Jukebox Jam: A Musical Feast
Hosted by @veronica, this Jukebox Jam took on a fun theme: Songs with food names or references! Attendees offered up selections like “Kiwi” by Harry Styles and “Strawberry Wine” by Deanna Carter. Listen to the delicious playlist here! This playlist showcases the creativity Remarkists bring to the platform every day.
Jukebox Jam: Comedy
Hosted by @renee, this Jukebox Jam was a tribute to comedic songs! Hits included “White Woman’s Instagram” by Bo Burnham and “I Love You So Much (It’s Scary)” off the Bob’s Burgers soundtrack. If you’re a fan of Weird Al Yankovic and songs from movies that spoof musical subsets like boy bands, this playlist is for you!
A Jukebox Jam Discoteque
At Remarkist, @regina and @curry hosted a months-long watch party of the iconic series, Freaks & Geeks. The music in the show is such a huge part of the show and helps set its nostalgic mood. To that end, they hosted a Jukebox Jam disco session with the vibe of an early 80s homecoming dance 🕺 (who could forget Sam asking Cindy to dance during “Come Sail Away” by Styx?) which includes “Night Fever” by the Bee Gees and “Ladies Night” by Kool and the Gang amongst other classics you’ll need at your next dance party.
