Giles and Spike. The odd couple that we just didn’t know we needed until we got it in Season 4. Both characters are down on themselves. Giles is a retired librarian that is sort of between projects, and is also not up-to-date in all the college happenings for Buffy. While Spike is affectionately called a neutered kitten, he can't bite and is sometimes found watching “Passions” in Giles’ bathtub sipping on blood from a mug.

In this episode, Giles must rely on Spike when he is turned into a Fyarl demon because no one else can understand the demonic language he speaks. Well, Giles still has to bribe Spike with money because Spike doesn’t do anything out of the evilness of his heart. They end up in the Citroen, being chased by the commandos. Another $100 and Spike serves as the distraction as Giles makes his way to deal with Ethan Rayne.

The spin off writes itself. The adventures of Giles and Spike, looking for their next adventure and demon to kill or maybe just a professor to scare.
